We had a chance to try the new Piantedosi Stop Section this evening. It works GREAT!!!
It is a suspended type, connects to the end of the track, and is perfectly safe for the "rail huggers" out there. The track falls away and the car slides on it's underside. It worked flawless, and made our 40ft aluminum Freedom track complete!
Great Job Gary!

New Piantedosi Stop Section
Anything worth doing, is worth over doing!
Re: New Piantedosi Stop Section
Good evening everyone, we ran our race last night with our new POC 32' Classic wooden track.... The new stop section work great but some of our faster cars made it pass the end of the stop section. Don't know what the old section looked like or how it worked, but maybe adding 6" to the 30" section would remedy this problem.... Just a suggestion

Re: New Piantedosi Stop Section
I think with any of these commercial stop sections you need a final measure to ensure that fastest cars do not go off the end of the track. We put a wadded up sheet at the end. A jacket or pillow would do as well. Even if the stop section was stopping all of the cars, I would want the added safety measure for peace of mind.provo61 wrote:The new stop section work great but some of our faster cars made it pass the end of the stop section.

Re: New Piantedosi Stop Section
We made a stop section very similar to the new Piantedosi stop section. As a final guard, we took a piece of foam about 3 inches thick, 6 inches tall, and a couple inches wider than the track. About two inches from the bottom, we cut a slit wide enough for the track. We covered the whole thing in checkered cloth with a matching slit. To install, we lift the end of our stop section and slide the foam block on. The foam is held in place by the weight of the stop section. Not only does the foam block act as a final stop, it gives the stop section an incline. If the incline wasn't quite enough, we could turn the foam block over and add another couple of inches of height to the end.gpraceman wrote:I think with any of these commercial stop sections you need a final measure to ensure that fastest cars do not go off the end of the track.
