Anyone using a 'Make Tracks' track?

Post by Ricerocket00 »

I have been thinking about getting a two lane track for testing purposes (wife thought I was crazy before... this only confirms it :D ). I came across the following website: http://www.royalracers.com/main1.htm. A 32 foot two lane track is only $185, including shipping! I emailed the folks, asking for more pictures, but they couldn't supply any other than the two on the website, showing a close up of the track and their stop section. This was the email that was sent in response to the request for more information:

Thanks for your interest in our products. We have been in the track kit
business since 1984. One of the reasons that our kits are reasonably prices
is that they are a "kit".

All the base pieces of our track kits are of seven ply, cabinet grade
plywood and the legs and other connecting parts are of #2 pine. All the
pieces are precut to exact sizes needed for assembly of the kit. The kits
also include good quality hardware for the assembly of the track kit. There
is a set of detailed drawings and written instructions included and we even
provide glue for the fixed joints.

There is no pre drilling or layout done on the kit and the wood is
unfinished. It will take a couple of average handy men about two hours for
the initial assembly. After that, the track will set up in about 15
minutes. Our kits are a basic design that function well when properly
assembled.

We do offer professional assembly and finishing services in our shop. Our
fee for assembly is 80.00.
Our fee for finishing is 85.00. When finishing, we spray five coats minimum
of Sherwin Williams cabinet grade wood lacquer sanding between coats.

We also offer custom storage boxes. Two lane box is $135.00. Boxes have
hinged lids, heavy duty drop handles on each end, and padlockable latches.
They are constructed of 3/4 pine and one half inch plywood with oak runners.

If we assemble the track in our shop, they will no longer ship via UPS, but
must ship truck freight.

Let us know how we can best serve you.

I had my eyes on a 42' Best Track, but I am curious if anyone else out there has had any dealings with these folks. They seemed very nice and quick to respond, which is a major plus in my books.
