Rebounding Starting Gate

We recently bought a BestTrack 42' aluminum track and after taking video of some runs using a camera mounted to a car and playing them back in slow motion we have noticed a slight rebound of the starting gate. Once the lever is pulled the gate goes down and then for a split second you can see the gate bounce up into view again. Has anyone had this problem before? Is there an easy fix. We've tried foam padding but that didn't solve the problem completely. (Its still bounces, just not as high.) Thanks for your help.
