Dampen start mod for BestTrack

I am looking for information about the dampen start mod for the BestTrack. Today the spring start on BestTrack is causing the cars to bump on the start. It needs to be softer. Thanks in advance for the info or a pointer

I can think of two options:

1. Replace the spring with a weaker one.

2. Add more padding to the back of the starting pin plate so that the abrupt stop is dampened.

We added a 1/4" felt pad (3 spaced across) to soften it. I believe Besttrack is now shipping a pad for this.

Get some of the closed cell foam window insulation available at any Hardware store. It's the kind that when you compress it it is slow to return to form. It is sticky on one side and comes in different widths. This stuff is the best for solving this problem.
