Best track came in ..........

Post by sdupont1 »

Finally recieved our two lane 35' best track. man this is top notch. Only took about 2 hrs to assemble from scratch. Well built and ready to run. We also ordered the K3 timer to go along with it. No software yet, low on funds.

What kind of time should you be running on a 35' best to be competetive?
Also thinking of sending a car to WIRL , what are some of the best times on a 35 footer?

We have had a 35' Best Track track for the last 6 years and the winning time hovers around 2.825 seconds (avg). This year, we used their new curve which made the track 32' and the winning average this year is about 2.53 seconds.

It also depends on your setup, whether the track is smooth or not.

So I guess mine is 32'. Just got it in yesterday. Probably 32' of running track and the rest is the stop section for a total of 35'.

Presuming that the "new curve" is the 4 ft radius curve on their current website, what was the shape of the old track's curved section?

Stan, I don't remember, but there is a 2.5' - 3' flat after the curve and the curve was very abrupt. The new 4' curve is very gentle during the transitional section. I know that we lost 3' of track after we put in the new curve. Steve at BestTrack suggested to add a 3' piece, but we elected not to.

Onehour,

Any time with the new 4' setup. Trying to get a standard to shoot for.

We just ran our pack race yesterday - same track but with the K1 timer.

Our top 5 in the finals were as follows:
2.4728
2.4753
2.4805
2.4895
2.4900

Those were the average times of the racers - with the lowest time thrown out.

Does anyone have any times to report on the Best Track 20 ft Test Track?
