Best Track Stop Section Foam Removal

The foam stop section material on our track is in desperate need of replacement. Before I break out the scraper and Goo Gone, I thought that I should see if there are any removal methods that work better than others?

Slowly peel the strips up, while using a heat gun to loosen up the adhesive.
