We ran our race a few weeks ago and things went pretty well considering I only played with the software a short time before using it for the race. Boy was that a mistake. Everyone told me that the dens raced seperately and then on race day after getting the racing groups all set up (tigers, bears, wolfs & webelos) a den leader tells me that I was suposed to run the bears and wolfs as one big den.
Oh well it was my first year and the parents and kids like the software displayed on the projection screen and the fact that the boys got to race a lot more considering the previous years were done in DE format. I'll definately be more prepared next year.
My suggestion is that if you have a tie for 2nd or 3rd place and a distinct winner advance the tied cars to round 2 for a runoff race to determine 2nd and 3rd place for the "Fastest Tiger Trophy". If my sugestion does not make sense please let me know.
I am a software developer myself and recognize the database format you use. If you ever need help with code or anything like that feel free to contact me.

Re: GPRM Suggestions.
You could have edited the race groups/subgroups and then reassigned those racers.webhead wrote:We ran our race a few weeks ago and things went pretty well considering I only played with the software a short time before using it for the race. There will be improvements for the next version of GPRM with respect to handling ties. You will be given some options on how to break the tie.webhead wrote:My suggestion is that if you have a tie for 2nd or 3rd place and a distinct winner advance the tied cars to round 2 for a runoff race to determine 2nd and 3rd place for the "Fastest Tiger Trophy". However, the best way to deal with tiebreakers is to cram in as much racing as you can. This will decrease the chances of ending up with a tie. If you can add another run per lane to the schedule, this will help.
Thanks for the offer. However, since this is a commercial product, I have to closely guard the code.webhead wrote:If you ever need help with code or anything like that feel free to contact me.
