Post by 68sportcoupe »

as it states we are going to have our race with another pack.
We just bought a best track the two packs whent in on it together.
we are going to run the race with the other pack.
what would be the best way to do this so that we can come out in the end with all the info we need as in stats for each pack and stats for each den we have gprm v9 im not sure if they got the updates yet but they where talking about it of course we whant to run each car in each lane just wondering about two groups one for each pack then sub groups named tiger packxxx and so on or all just groups i think we will have about 80 kids 30 and 50 and adults siblings its gonna be a big day but thats ok with me.any help would be apreciated.

"Best way" will depend on your preferences to "run by time" or "run by heat points".

"Run by time" mixed competitors from different packs and age groups easily, but increases the group size so that each competitor has a shorter share of the time expended for his group. So attention may be an issue. The attention issue is best (I think) solved by running the groups separately and having a stagger start schedule for them.

"Run by heat points" works best with the groups isolated, unless the groups are very small. Intermixing heats from separate schedules (GPRM can do this) is okay except that it extends the time spent without increasing the time each individual actually racing.

Yes, as long as your are scoring by times, you can set it up that way and be able to view the standings as you need.

So, competing by times, you should look at how long it will take to run 'em all together, then decide if it they can abide the amount of "wait time" between the heats they participate in. Then decide whether to run 'em all together or stagger their start times and race in smaller groups.

Another consideration is whether you can overlap inspection for the later groups with racing of the earlier groups. If you can't start racing until all the cars have been inspected, then stagger start of smaller race groups gains a lot less for the participants.

so lets see if i got this right.
3 groups group1-pack-xxx with sub group tiger wolfe bears weebs
group2-pack-xxx with sub group tiger wolfe bears weebs
group3-adults -siblings sub group adult siblings.

i think weel be using perfectN with the racers being mixed up instead of 4 kids racing 4 races in a row.
what do we have to do to update the software from v9 to the current version.
thanks again for any advice.
and have a merry christmas everyone!!!

Or you race by age group, regardless of what pack they are in. Make up groups for Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos. Then each has a subgroup for each pack. Then have a group for your Open division (subgroups of Adults, Siblings). Use Master Scheduling to shuffle the different schedules together into a single schedule to keep all involved. Subgroup standings will allow you to give out your pack awards by rank.

You can order the V11 upgrade.
