Re: Herbie Fully Loaded
You never cease to amaze me with what you do with a chunk of wood.
When you have hinged doors and such, at what stage do you paint? Do you paint the door and then put it on, or paint it all when fully assembled? I would assume you just use a finish nail as the pin of the hinge, how do you hide it? Do you counter sink it and then fill the hole? If so wouldn't that mean that you paint after assembly? Hope this makes sense.

Re: Herbie Fully Loaded
I mostly paint after the the car is finished built to make sure my ideas work. As for pinning the hinges.I use bamboo sticks or really thin strong wire. For a few cars I have painted the roof separate and glued it on so I could paint the inside.I hope this helps.

Re: Herbie Fully Loaded
I don't know how fast he is.I have not raced him for he is way too heavy.
I tried to lighten him up but I can't cut any more from the bottom. So I added a spare tire up front and aluminum tape for the bumpers and crome trim.
