Beautiful! What is the material in the front wheel of your car and the lane 3 car?

Stan, that's a sliver of 3/16" black foam core inserted into the wheel to reduce vibration and increase aerodynamic efficiency. It'll get you about 1/2 -3/4" on a 4 wheel car. They weigh less than .1 gram each. The back wheel doesn't have one because there are tungsten cubes extending into the wheel cavity below the axle plane. You have to get the rearward low weight where you can get it!

PWD, yes, for a car with 4 wheels it gives us about .005 sec. on our wooden 28 foot track. I suspect it works a bit better where the tread has been "thinned" (wheels lightened) because it reduces the flexibility (and assumedly the vibration) of the thinned plastic.

Looks like a "last minute special" running in lane 2.

did you have any issues with the car drifting left to right? I made a crocodile car (Image) the wheels were offset, and it drifted side to side something terrible

No alignment issues. The car goes to the rail and stays there. Did you carve that croc out of wood?

Yes, it is completely 100% pinewood, with exception of the teeth, they are toothpicks, not sure what wood toothpicks are made from

Toothpicks are usually birch. Did you turn them all down from 4 X 4s, a la Tool Time? J/k...

No I didn't, thanks for the info as to what they are made of though. It is funny you mention Steve Irwin, Joe, as his passing was the impetus for creating this car
