Sweet looking ride. Great looking fit and finish.
The staged cars all looked potentially tough!

Andy, Kentucky Pride right? Gotta support the homegrown!!Love the fenders on the back!
Will saw this design on your site and had to incorporate the fenders. They were very easy to work with and fit very well. You'll notice the lower section is carved in a little. We experienced a little rub at the trials and corrected it. We learned that the old addage of "measure twice, cut once" also applies to epoxy.
If you are near Louisville on March 6th, our pack is hosting the district race we'd be glad to have you.
Thanks
G

Great car and congratulations! How about some detailed specs (rail rider, 3 wheeler, track times...)? Also can you post a picture of the underside. Not looking to copy as I have no idea how to make those cool fenders but I do need some ideas about weight placement on a similar design.
Thanks and congrats again!

No need to make the fenders! Just look 3 posts above yours for the guy who makes and sells them.DKO wrote:Great car and congratulations! Very slick looking car! That's a real eye catcher.
Is there any signs of rubbing on the bottom of those fender flares? Rubbing on the curve transition was my second thought after I looked at the picture.

Re: Will's 2010 PWD Car
Thanks Iceman,
We have a 42ft Best Track.
No rubbing on the bottom to the fenders but at the trials we did see rub marks on inside of the left side flare.
We checked the alignment and it was running straight going backward, so we remeasured (after the fact) and found that the fender was glued in place at an angle. (DUH) Which caused the slow times at trials. So we shaved the underside on both fenders for aesthetics and everything worked out. It's amazing what brakes do to these little cars.

Whodathunkit,
No, but I remember reading that someone has tried that before. The fenders are a 1/2 in. wide so you could put a lot of tungsten down there. I'd like to test that though.

Re: Will's 2010 PWD Car
That may have been us. We experimented with weighted side pods, attempting to get the weight near track level, almost all below axle plane. Our thinking was guided by the assumption that lower COM is better, potentially faster and more stable. It was stable, however we did not find a speed advantage over our usual low and concentrated. I was never comfortable spreading the weight side to side and in front of rear wheels. However, on a track without a center guide which would allow concentrated placement there may be some advantage going that low.Lactic Acid Trip Racing wrote:...

Re: Will's 2010 PWD Car
i've seen a car close in looks to this one! that had the weight mounted just inside the iner rim of the back wheels! ( Just a thought on giveing the car a little more push on the longer track's!) to how well it works, but i have seen this done!
