We're Officially Retired (may come out in 20 years from now)

Post by bigtex »

Well, what can I say...this last Saturday was our Pinewood Derby race. Can't begin to say enough great things about this forum...and being able to have my son have access to the site knowing it's all geared towards Cub Scout's (and moderated well) was a real treat....

Going to really miss all the great conversations and new ideas...

It's just too bad he's crossing over to Boy Scouts in Feb, that means he'll miss the District and Council races this year in April...

Unless your District or Council Races specifically forbid it, Webelos II should be an included part of those races even though they have crossed over, as they were Webelos II at the beginning of that school year. It would be a shame if you were excluded becausee by that logic, tigers are technically not tigers after they get their tiger badge.. they are now wolves.. lol

Depending on when the the district race is, unless they earn their Arrow of Light have completed 5th grade, or have turned 11, they are not actually boy scouts yet anyways, even though they may have done the crossover ceremony.

He receives his Arrow of Light a couple months before the District/Council races unfortunately...

Another dumb, misunderstood or non-logically applied rule. If their Pack dues were paid for the YEAR, and they made their cars as Cub Scouts, why should anyone care ?

My son was still allowed to race in council, even after he crossed over. I thought that was how almost all of them were doing it.

You race in the pack as a cub scout, but cross over, yet council or district is later. But they still allowed them to race.
