2013 Lineup

Post by Noskills »

We have been working hard for a few days. Here are my son's and daughter's cars.

Can you guess whose is whose?

"The Zombie Car" Extended wheelbase 3 wheel RR. COM 5/8th The Night of the Living Dead movie poster was my idea, my son picked the Zombies vs Plants sticker

The "E-Racer" MaxV wing kit. Extended wheel base 3 wheel RR. COM 7/8th. This is the on to race my extended front end car with similar prep.

The whole line up along with my car "The Western Widow".
We hope to scare the competition  or lull them into thinking the car is too cute to be fast ;)

Great looking cars Seth! I would have to say that I think that the zombie car is going to win. This is only because I am a Walking Dead fan. 8)

Great looking cars NoSkills! Sometimes you can tell a fast car by just looking at it : )
For the Zombie car, did you use existing axle slots? Also for 5/8" COM what drift did you decide to go with?

Nice craftsmanship on all the cars. I particularly like the Zombie car. That Western Widow car looks fast, too.

I'm going to guess the Black and Red car will be the fastest. It will get the jump through the transition. Stan Pope said so in a different Post.

rpcarpe,

I use the same drift on all cars. 4 inches over 4 feet. Seems to be the average recommended over many posts. We use a smooth aluminum track so I dont see the need to increase the drift. The black one was tested and I was told it rode the rail well so I will take the drift as adequate. Thanks for asking,
Seth

Okay!
Yeah, 4" over 4' is easy to remember and I happened upon a beautiful 4' glass table top at Hobby Lobby. It's perfect for an alignment table.

Alright,
The results of the Toback clan are on http://www.rentmytrack.com" target="_blank. Simon T, Sophia T and Seth T in pack 639. Also look at the fastest racers in the area for this track owner.

My son won first place in the pack and was also voted best design. :bigups:
I won first place in the open class with the black widow with my daughter just behind me.

Big thanks to DT. Just goes to show what a can be accomplished by a simple country doctor with just one year of obsessive reading and car building.

Going to change my screen name from Noskills to Someskills. Yet now I have the fear of being knocked from number one :D

WOW !!!!! CONGRATULATIONS to Team Toback. You are SCARY !!!! You and your son are the only ones who broke the 3 mark. That gives me some faith in the screw adjustment. We race tomorrow.
Again, CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!
Cheers,
Bill

I think we are going to dial- in ours (drift) using your plan. Good idea, and we are running on aluminum as well.
