Swiss Army Knife Car
Hey Guys,
This is my first post, but I have been lurking this site for a few years. Thanks for all the great info, my Son and I have used it to build some winning cars. Here is a car we did this year just for fun. The non-BSA wheels wouldn't pass inspection in our Pack, but they look sharp.

No, that is a clothes hanger that was wound around a large nail to shape it. Everything else, except the key ring, is wood.

Wow. Just... wow. And I love that the knife blades/tools actually unfold. Thanks for sharing!
Re: Swiss Army Knife Car
My favorite pocket knife is a swiss army knife. I have seen one done before. But not as good and nice as yours.
Wow. !
I think you shuld think about making a few, un painted and prepped. as offer as a kit to sell. If not to hard to do. i think their might be some interest out there for you to offer them as a kit for sale. a assembly kit and paint.

I'm with Sporty on this.. Wow what a cool looking Swiss Army Knife Car.
What type of automobile can be spelled the same forwards & backwards?
Re: Swiss Army Knife Car
Sweet. I knew Darin would like it. I agree with him. The fact that the blades actually fold out is extra special.

Wow! That is totally awesome! Very inspirational! My boys have mostly gone for speed, but that may change now with my younger one....

That's some real craftmanship! Hard to believe you built it with moving parts, that's incredible. I really like the creativity people bring to these little pine blocks. Sometimes I feel like Po's (the Kung Fu Panda) alter-ego: "I LOVE PINEWOOD DERBY!"

Re: Swiss Army Knife Car
Thanks for all the compliments! We had a great time building it and took some inspiration from some of the other knife cars on the internet. We searched out blueprints for actual pocket knives and used those to make it work. Now we know how to make an actual pocket knife which is cool because we just finished or Whittling Chip Requirements in our Bear Den.
Now, about offering a rough cut kit for sale... Maybe next Derby Season.
