This is my wife's car, The "Butterfly". She mentioned to me that if I beat her in any race I should plan on getting my cooking someplace else. I was fortunate to have found some old "99" wheels and some White Teflon for Lube. There's probably some old rusty axles around here someplace. That should keep me safe. Hopefully I'll be able to post a picture of my car in a week or so.
Cheers,
Speedster

Here are our two entries for Mid-America: "Swan Song 1" and "Swan Song 2." Please pardon the graphite. Once I clean these up a little, the DerbyTalk stickers will pop a little more.

Paul

Swan Song 1 uses a 3 oz slotted tungsten round and assorted tungsten cylinders as the main ballast.

Swan Song 2 uses tungsten cubes and Sporty's "Spoon" design.

With all those super thin extended wheelbase cars out there I am having short fat car issues...Yet like the Millennium Falcon I am hoping "...she may not look like much but she has it where it counts!"

Seth (Noskills)

P.S. I am making a list of all DTer who are entering the mid america. PM me if I have neglected to contact you.

Seth,

I think you've got a mean looking car there. Your Millenium Falcon reference alone should earn you some additional 'Parsecs' during the race. ;)

The weight has been added, the wheels installed and the paint is dry. Time to get "Rolling", so to speak. My wife, Sharon, (Butterfly) and I wish all the DT racers the "Best of Luck". Your cars are all beautiful and they look very, very FAST. Race Day will soon be here. ImageOnce again, GOOD LUCK !

Seth, a standard wheel base car can actually be faster than an extended wheelbase car. The extended wheel base makes alignment easier with more aggressive COMs and smooths out some of the ride. But it also sucks a tiny bit of speed away. A perfectly aligned standard wheel base car can be wicked fast. I prefer the extended base just because I have a hard time getting a standard wheel base car aligned. So, in a way, you've got an advantage over the rest of us.
