What type of automobile can be spelled the same forwards & backwards?

Sweet Mofast!
Can we get some car stats? Look all stock wheel base. I am liking the idea of rear fenders only too. Pine or balsa?
Good luck at Districts.

Everything is out of the box, orange wheels purchased at Scout shop.
We have to use the slots, so they were epoxied and then I drilled into the epoxy, used the Silver Bullet. Tungsten cubes were the weight. Fenders are balsa. They were graphite cars.

I like those long swept fenders. May have to redo ours for the COuncil race now after seeing yours. Both cars are awesome but that orange car is really smooth looking in the way the colors blend together.

Thanks for the kind words DaveT, we don't make them that long anymore. The cars will be at MA!

MOFAST,
I Noted: you said your not makeing fenders that long any more.
So with the shorter new fenders
Is your son cutting in a 3/16" notch on the bottom of fenders & away from the car body..
or is he beveling them by sanding?
Sometimes removeing enough wood for clearance by beveling the under sides of the fenders
can be tricky.. & still rub on the rail if there is not enough of an angle on the bevel.
Anyhow ..good luck to Team MOFAST at MA.
Whoda.

Re: Pack Champion and runner up!
I use a razor saw and cut over about 1/4th of an inch and then cut up from the bottom. Then the boys can sand it flush with the bottom of the car. I then put clear fingernail polish on the bottom of my fenders to make it stronger and slicker.
I cut and make my own fenders on my scroll saw but I use a vendor's fenders for a template. When I make fenders I will cut out a dozen at a time and use the best ones. I give the rejects away at our Scout workshop. They are useable they just may require more work than I want to put into them.
The gee fenders are nice but too expensive for me. My favorite part of building PWD cars is the wood working part. The sanding, shaping, blending, puttying, ca gluing part.
The axles, prep, hole drilling, and tuning are my least favorite. Probably why I am not faster.
My very favorite part is racing!
