I've been wanting to build another electronic car for our next year's Awana race, as I had a lot of fun with my Screaming Mimi. I have the concept in mind for it, but I need to start figuring out how to implement. This car gives me some good ideas on the electronics.

That looks like a lot of fun! I especially like the idea of the light effects changing when the car is in motion.

This year, I was working on a Firefly-class spaceship. The idea was for the tail section to light up during acceleration. I couldn't get it to work in time though, so I went with Plan B for this year's derby. But maybe for next year...

A few years ago. Me and the kids did tr on cars that had lights. We're pretty cool and not hard to do.

That is a 3.7V Lipo battery. You can find these type of batteries from those that sell RC airplanes, boats, and cars.
