I'm so glad you don't sell cars or fenders. I would be so tempted to become one of those people I despise. At a minimum, my wallet would be a lot more empty. Beautiful lines on that car.

The latter. Before people get any ideas about doing something similar, remember to check your rules! Many scout rules demand that the inside lettering be visible.

I hear talk.. that some of you guys who are league racers:
Fell that the weight for the tungsten puma weights..
is to heavy and putting to way to much weight out side of the car body.
And that it is not giving the builder as much room to play around with getting the placement
of the tungsten cubes right by haveing to use less of them in the car body now.

I've also seen that alot of league racers are trying different things for wheel weights now
like useing the washers or there makeing there own wheel weights from brass.

Anyway LightninBoy, your wheel weights look to be home made to me!
& from the two car photos of your car:
It's hard to tell if you are useing the tungsten puma weights or not for your league car.

I haven't tried the Puma weights yet, so I can't confirm or deny other builders' experiences with them. I strongly considered them, but early in the summer I started down a certain path of investigation and when I really thought about how to integrate the Puma weights into my designs I realized I would have to basically start from square one on weight placement. So I decided to stay with traditional weighting methods and see how far I could take it.

That said, I know that at least two of the cars closest to Mojo were using Puma weights or at least early versions of them. So they overcame any challenges.

I see Joe has introduced the Cub Scout version of the Puma weights. Apart from being more rule friendly for scout racing, I believe they are simply better than the original. I'll *definitely* be giving those a try.

Lightningboy is very humble, but he actually had some great advice for me to consider when developing the Puma Racing "Cub Weights"

This Cub design is as much his as mine.


The possible drawbacks of the original Puma Racing Weights is the weight that is above the axle line may not be doing as much work as weight a little lower on the car.

Some builders just a hairs breath behind LB are using the weights which leads me to believe that it is a matter of preference.

I think that although the original weight doesn't have as much drop, as it would lower on the car, but it may be conserving energy at the transition by encircling the rear axles.

This decreases the MOI at the transition.
