Extended wheel base vs short wheel base (rail riders)

I concur with FS and Sporty, overall you're going to do better with an extended wheelbase.

Also, it gives more opportunity for the Cub to learn WHY the extended wheel base works better.

I'll bet you an unopened Pinewood Derby kit the stock wheelbase with shifted slots wins.

The cars will look different: Black spoon shaped extend front end, standard slot different and basic thin pink wedge with extended wheelbase, YET I will do my best to use the same prep on each to make it as fair a comparison as possible. When I have completed photos of each I will post the side by side. I am excited about the race but I still hope my daughter beats me

Here are the two cars with similar prep: the pink wedge with extended wheelbase and the black with the extended front end. May the faster car win. PWD 1/31. What to do until then?

Had to post here too. Well the extended front end car beat the extended wheel base car by just a little bit. Both cars were never on the track at the same time so I cannot say if one took the transition better or not. All were very smooth. Great day at the races.
