REALLY bad alignment

Post by Ickabod »

Here is a video of my car at the races. As you can tell, the rear alignment was WAY off. It was hard to detect on a tuning board. This is why I really need a test track....

My car is the 2nd lane from the left....the one running sideways. :eeek:

Ick and others is this poor rear wheel alignment or too much rail riding effect? What was your drift? I have not seen a RR go down the tract so am unsure it a properly RR is a but sideways.

Wrong! What you need is a way to test rear end tracking. One inexpensive way is shown in the last photo at http://www.stanpope.net/camalignramp.htm. The cost difference will make "Mrs. Ickabod" very pleased!

I love the video. What would it take to be able to show that in Slow Motion?

I opened the video in Windows Movie Maker and under effects, I selected 1/2 speed and then saved the video.

sporty, try a direct link...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQjdSzDbwy0" target="_blank

if that's all the drift you had, I'd say your rears are doing more steering than your DFW... and the wrong way to boot. Are you using bent axles? or straight?

Most people don't have the tech skills to scoop your video off youtube to do that. you would have to provide a link to a place to download locally. hitting the space bar repeatedly as it's playing is slightly beneficial.

You're left rear wheel, had more cant then the right rear and the left rear also had toe out. I think you also had toe in on the right rear. I can also see a axle issue on the left front (rail rider, I asume) the axle bend is to close to the wheel bore and it catches a few times in the wheel bore causing the sudden jerks. This is the 2nd car nexrt to the silver car right ?

edited to remove mention of the other car.

You will get better at building, i think there was some confusion on a few things, what is front and back , ect. from what I recall from pm's.

It looks to me like it is a railrider--on the right rear! :O I've never seen that before!

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought speedster was talking about it already being 1/2 speed.

Here is the video at 1/4 speed.
