District Results!

Post by MOFAST »

My oldest son got 2nd in Bears at Districts! This car went 15 heats in a row without losing a race between Pack and Districts! This is not a plank, he insisted on a car with some thickness. With this disadvantage, I thought it did very well.

My son was so pumped up after getting 2nd, that in his basketball game later that day, he had his best game ever! You could see his confidence on the court. I was a proud daddy! After his basketball game we had to go back to Districts for the District Champion finals. He finished somewhere in the middle, but it did not ruin the day. It was a great day. I'm sure it will be one of his fondest memories and I am gratefull that I was a part of it.

I stole the idea from DRathburn, if you search under slides you can see the whole process. We wrapped the pvc with checkered masking tape. Just be careful what type of glue you use, we melted some wheels.

We did 50 of these for our pack and they were 59 cents a piece. If someone donates the wheels they are about .09 a piece. The pvc was $1.38 and the tape was $3 and change. We cut the pvc on a band saw and then drilled the holes, took 10 minutes. We then brought them to our test/tune and the boys sanded them and put them together, took ten minutes. Thanks Derby Talk!
