CM at rear axle slot

Post by Speedster »

On March 1, 2014, we had a basic wedge designed car pull what appeared to be 1/4" high wheelies all the way down the track. I was at the finish line and witnessed the car doing it every time. We have a very smooth circular arc wood track and the car never jumped the track. It took 1st place despite the wheelies. The 1st track the car will race on at District is a "Best" track where the car will travel 29'. The car balances directly over the rear axle. I think the car will not stay on the "Best" track. The team had 2 sons involved and the 2nd son also had a wedge designed car using the long end for the front instead of the short end for the front. The second car also took a 1st place but had a CM of 1" in front of the rear axle slot and ran very smoothly. My scout, who is from another Pack, and every other scout in the Bear competition are exposed to damage from this car.

What, if anything, would you recommend to the wheelie car team, or to anyone else, before the March 15 District races?

"Popping a wheelie" during a race does add excitement!

But optional PWD Rules may also be added befor the District races.

Rules like:

If, during the race, a car leaves the track with out interfering with it's apponet,
it shall be considered to have ended its heat at that point.

If, a car leaves it's lane, at his sole discretion, the race chairman may inspect the track,
and if the track falt is found which probably caused the initial violation,
the race chairman may order the race to be re-ran after the track is repaired.

If, during a race, no car reaches the finsh line on the track, the car that went the farthest in it's lane
shall be declared as the heat winner.

If, during a race, a car leave it's lane and, in so doing, interferes with another racer,
then the car is at falt and shall be declared to have lost the heat race.
What type of automobile can be spelled the same forwards & backwards?
