Here's some interesting practice track plans.

I'm hoping to finally build a practice track this summer, but I thought I'd crib off of these plans here:

And very interesting car build as well for the Track Plans Randy !

3/16"X 1-1/2" Fender washers for wheels... & 10x3/4" screws for axles! Leaving space so they spin freely.. 1/4" in on each end & 1" up on the drill location.

What no spacers to keep the upper half of the washers from rubbing on the full car block!

Wonder how it would work on canted or toed axle holes with the full body block as shown.

Anyone have a guess on what washer to body gap to run?

I gotta say, if you're gonna invest all that time and energy into making even a simple track, why not spend a few bucks for an actual car kit, with real wheels? I think the metal washers might eventually damage a wooden track.

Each person that builds a track has a specific goal. Randy has found a track that is easy to build and might well be the least expensive a track can be built. The guide strip is 1/4" X 1 1/2" Pine lattice strip which is a stock size. That makes it easy. For many of us on Derbytalk we NEED a "Best" track even if it is only one lane. OK, I got carried away using the word NEED.

If I was building a track I would make sure Hot Wheel cars could be raced on the track.
