GrandPrix Race Manager Software Version 5.0 Released

Post by gpraceman »

GrandPrix Race Manager™ Version 5.0 has just been released! Several new features have been added along with many improvements to make the software easier to use and more versatile.

To find out more, please visit the GrandPrix Race Manager page at GrandPrix Software Central, located at http://grandprix-software-central.com/gprm/.

Here's a summary of what's new:
  • Added the ability to maximize the Main screen. Tables will be resized so you can view more information without having to scroll.
  • Added a "Hands-Free Timing" mode to the Racing screen. Once you start racing, the heat results will be shown for the amount of time that you specify and GrandPrix Race Manager will then automatically show the next heat and get the timer ready. You no longer have to stay at the computer and click a button to start every heat.
  • Added support for Timestopper serial timers.
  • Added support for SmartLine serial timers.
  • Added ability to reverse lanes, when using a serial timer.
  • Added the ability to disable specified lane(s), when using a serial timer. This is handy if you have a "bad" lane that you do not want to race on or if you just want to race on fewer lanes.
  • Modified the Custom Serial Timer Setup Options screen to add support for reset delay, timer start response, timer ready response, mask lanes, and lane labeling.
  • Modified the Racing screen so that any "Bye" vehicle will be ignored when timing. You will not have to hit the Escape key to get all of the results from your timer, if supported by your timer.
  • Added the ability to import an awards list from a CSV file.
  • Increased the ability of the Perfect-N Type Chart generator to produce a chart with particular combinations of parameters.
  • A "Start with a Random Number" number option was added to the Perfect-N Type Chart generator so you can generate a different chart every time, given the same parameters.
  • Added the ability to selectively pick the groups to advance to a Grand Finals round.
  • Racers can be added to a race schedule even if racing has already started. This is useful if you accommodate late comers or if you will be No Chart racing and not all racers check-in prior to the start of racing.
  • Added "Avg MPH" to standings displayed on the Main and Standings screens, when scoring by time.
  • Upon the import of a race chart, you will be asked if you want to view and print the schedule.
  • Font colors on the award certificates were made configurable.
  • Reports were modified so page breaks work more appropriately.
  • Implemented a new help system. Help information is now searchable and you can bookmark your favorite help topics for later reference. You can also call applicable help information by pressing the F1 key while anywhere in the software.
  • Mousing over a screen control will display a description of the control. This serves as extra help information.
  • And there's more...
I believe that you will not find another race management software package that is as feature packed and as easy to use as GrandPrix Race Manager, at any price.
