Newbie question-Big Green Book
Just getting back into PWD after more than 25 years.....my son now has a son...so here we go.
I am fascinated by the new technology and saddened by reading some of the old posts on graphite caking and perceived "bushings". Yesterday I re-examined the cars we made together in 1980, 81, and 82...no science here. Looks like we chopped them out with a hatchet.
From a scientific standpoint , I would like to read the "big green book".
Where may I obtain a copy of this publication.?
Also....I live in upper S.C. near Greenville. Anyone close who could give me some pointers and knowledge?
I want to be absolutely sure that we follow the rules while using techniques which reward hard work.
thanks

Big Green Book is by Dr. John Jobe.
All his products and advice is available on his website pinewoodderbyphysics.com
I have a copy of his book and all his products. Great man, great science, huge book. I don't understand 1/2 the math and the other 75% is pretty tough too.
Check availability of Derby Doc... he's in SC somewhere in the upstate.

I wonder if any public libraries have a copy of Doc Jobe's book. Maybe worth checking on.

If I remember correctly they do a limited run on a local printer and take them to a binder. I HIGHLY doubt anyone has parted with their book in order to give it to a library. Mine is enshrined on the top shelf of the bookcase.

Re: Newbie question-Big Green Book
Libraries have some budget to acquire new books and these purchases are made based on patron requests, so the acquisition need not be the result of a donation. At least one university library has it in its stacks already. To potentially gain access, all it takes is one library that participates in inter-library loan to have an available copy.rpcarpe wrote:I HIGHLY doubt anyone has parted with their book in order to give it to a library.

I would be willing to sell mine for $50 plus shipping.
