Post by RonJ »

Trying to digest all the info contained on this site is tough for and old man that is new to the PWD world. Thanks to you guys I'm now getting ready to build my 3rd PWD car in 3 weeks..ha..ha..I find myself waking up in the middle of the night with a new idea I want to try and get to start all over again! Does the madness ever end????

Madness ? Only if you let it be.

Now, slowly lay down the block of wood , :| click on the link below and read the topic.

You've done really good :) by realizing you may have a serious addiction.

Ron,

I still run into many idea's I want to try and I still have alot to learn.

After all for me, aside from when I was a child, it's been the last 7 years that have spurred on pinewood derby with my children.

Just wait until you are building cars most of the year !!

Tal, you are so right. One of the most challenging things is to let my son do most of the work. He has learned all about wood grain and how to sand, picked up a thing or two about physics can do one heck of a job with a paint can and even learned how to make pin stripes! I'm hoping he'll pick up lots of common sense in the process as well.

But the addiction continues as I just sent a guy in a nearby town an email about a track he is wanting to sell!

We've got to test all these ideas and see which work the best you know.

You use the word "addiction". That actually can be a good thing. Think of many of the alternatives that today's kids (and parents) are addicted to. PWD is a pretty wonderful addiction if you ask me.

Happy Racing (and playing and testing and re-designing and...)
