How far will you go to race cub cars?

Saturday morning at 7:30 we headed out towards North Bay (3.5 hr south of us on a good day) for a district event... after 2 hours of driving they closed the highway. Unfortunately after calculating how far we would have to go on back roads to get to the event it was obvious that we would have missed the event so we decided to see if we could make it home before dark. Now up north here only half of the road on the map are maintained in the winter the rest are still 2-6 feet deep in snow... to find an alternate route this time of year we had to travel 125 miles out of the way, not that the other roads were any better than the main highway that had closed, just no one had been on them to say they should be closed... at points the snow was hitting the grill of the Tahoe about dead center. We drove for hours and saw no other vehicles, no homes, no anything but snow and trees. It looked mostly like this:



LOL, you gotta love April showers (unless the are still hard and white)... after 9 hours of driving we made it home. The worst thing is, we found out the cars we had beat the week before, won the event in North Bay yesterday. DOH!!!

Yes, lucky for them... maybe we will host a grudge match and have them down for a race when the weather is better.
