The test indicated an advantage averaging 0.003 seconds. IIRC, that equals about 0.6" separation at the finish line on a nominal 32' (4 section) track. Yes, worthwhile!

I have heard a few different distances a car will travel in .01 of a second. I think they were 1.3 inches, 1 1/2 inches and even 2 inches. Are we assuming the car is traveling at 11 MPH when it sets off the timer?

That was assumed in my estimate / approximation. IIRC, the actual number is about 0.19 (and change) per 0.001 second. That is really just an approximation because the issue is much more complex than how far a car traveling at 11 mph travels in 0.001 second!Speedster wrote:I have heard a few different distances a car will travel in .01 of a second.
