Max V Shifted wheelbase test

Latest Newsletter has Max V's Shifted wheelbase test. It is very interesting.

The test indicated an advantage averaging 0.003 seconds. IIRC, that equals about 0.6" separation at the finish line on a nominal 32' (4 section) track. Yes, worthwhile!

I have heard a few different distances a car will travel in .01 of a second. I think they were 1.3 inches, 1 1/2 inches and even 2 inches. Are we assuming the car is traveling at 11 MPH when it sets off the timer?

That was assumed in my estimate / approximation. IIRC, the actual number is about 0.19 (and change) per 0.001 second. That is really just an approximation because the issue is much more complex than how far a car traveling at 11 mph travels in 0.001 second!
