Krytox 100 Withdrawn by Manufacturer
Krytox 100 Withdrawn by Manufacturer
The Krytox family of lubricants (including GPL-100, aka Krytox 100) was sold by Dupunt to the Chemours Chemical Company. After the sale was complete, Chemours announced that they will no longer be manufacturing the light-weight oils, which includes Krytox 100, 101, and 102. So Krytox 100 is no longer being manufactured, and is no longer available from the US distributor Miller-Stephenson.
I don't know how much Krytox 100 is still in available from vendors, but if you are a Krytox 100 user, you may want to get a supply sooner than later.

I guess the Pinewood Derby community isn't a large enough consumer to sway the minds of a big industrial giant.

What type of automobile can be spelled the same forwards & backwards?

Not sure at this point - that would be a project for this summer to do some testing.

Randy,
Just thought id ask this question
Due to the Victorinox oil being a lube for the care of Swiss Army Knifes.
However I have no idea if it's a Mineral oil base type lube.

Re: Krytox 100 Withdrawn by Manufacturer
The issue really is viscosity. Most oils are too viscous, so they don't allow the wheel to spin freely.
Re: Krytox 100 Withdrawn by Manufacturer
If the oil is not viscous enough, though, it won't stay in the wheel bore. It really is a sweet spot to hit.
