My oldest daughter is 2011 and 2012 Champion (in her age bracket) for our town's soapbox derby.
The only rules- the wheels can't be over 12" tall sitting on the ground and you have to be able to control it.

And last but not least, we build a snow sled run in our yard each winter. The winter of 2010-2011 we had a 6ft tall snow slide as the starting point in our front yard with a sled run that runs around our house and down a hill in the back yard.
