A CubMobile car like no other.

Post by whodathunkit » Tue Sep 24, 2013 8:57 pm

I thought I'd title this topic a CubMobile car like no other..
Because there are some people here on DerbyTalk I'd like to thank for the topics they have shared.
(For giving me this crazy car idea!)

Randy, gpraceman..for sharing with me the multiple image resizer..
And a topic about a derby car that jumps through fire.

Sporty, For the really cool decals and topics on CubMobile.

Stan Pope, What can I say..
For the topic you shared about a car that really pushes the envelope on speed..
And joining Scouting!

Darin McGrew, For sharing the photos of unusual Derby cars.

And to a really cool guy we all pick on ..(Because we like him!)
FatSebastion, For the Thunderbold grease slapper car  idea.

This year I was asked to join Scouting..& to help the Cimarron River District Commissioner
and chair for a CubMobile race.
I was also told to build a car for the Outlaws... (just for fun to race with the kids!)
The race is set for October the 5th.

Now I know these races should be about the kids..(and not us adults!)

Well this got me to thinking of all the topics you all have shared with me in some way.
And us adults have got to have our fun with the kids also! (Right?)

So here it is the car I've been working on!
I kinda took the car photo from Jacks Dad on the Lil Red Rooster and ran with it..
Welding up one of my own.

Started out with the idea of using a 5/CF Wheelbarrow tub & a Radio Flyer Wagon bed
& a large Rural Route Mail Box.. and some 1X3 tubing.

To End up with this car..

gpraceman, Thank you! Ring of Fire Hula Hoop Hub Caps!

Sporty, Tanks...Here's a little Von Dutch touch..pinstriping for ya!

Stan Pope, Thank you for this Idea.. as this car will be hauling the mail..
And pushing the envelope that will be carrying my Boy Scouts Of America Adult Application.

Taking the training from you has been the best Stan. ;)

Darin McGrew, Thank you for the Unsual Derby car Ideas!
Hope you like this unsual Adult version of a Cubmobile car..
You heard of Soap Box Derby..
Well this one might take you back to the day of Mail Box Derbys & Hot Foot Headers.

Thank You for unsual music of Beep Beep..by the Play Mates..(got to find a Radio for the car!)

FatSebstian, Thank's Superman!( It's been a blast to have picked on you ..
And to have you pick back on me also!) ;)
There are no zerks on this car for you to Grease.. HEE, Hee He...
But would you wish this JunkYard Under Dog some luck anyway?

Hope to have some race day photos for you all some time after the 5th.

Whoda.
