Hardhats required for track operators

Because of the speed of Pinewood Derby cars today all of our track operators are required to wear Hardhats. OK, I'm kidding. I've been wearing a hardhat for many years because it makes people laugh. The scouts ask me why I carry my car on my head. I tell them I can't remember where I put things so this way I always know where my car is. I've been invited to be a car inspector at the Swan Creek District this year. Ray, the Swan Creek District Derby leader, always wore a white hardhat so people could recognize him easily. He agreed to wear a new hat with anything I put on it. Hopefully it will bring a lot of smiles.
The hat cost $6.50 at Menards. They're lots of fun to paint and decorate. The most fun comes when you see all the smiles without saying a word.
Cheers

Bill,

Q..Is it safe to paint a hard hat?

A.. ANSI Z89.1-2003 Appendix A4 States, When painting hard hat shells,
caution should be used because some paints and thinners may damage
or degrade the shell decreasing the level of protection,
befor painting consult the hard hat manufacture. :working: :rules: :rulepolice:

If only these hard hats could pass the standards where I work...

Nice job Bill the hard hats are Cool! ;)
Makes it all worth while if the kids think there cool and your haveing fun!

That's a Good Point, Whoda. I am now wondering how much protection you get from a hat that costs $6.50.
