Here's my car that has an electronic trigger. Not the lightest design, but still fun to build and watch.

Cool looking co2 car!
How did you build the electronic trigger to fire off the co2 bottles if I may ask ?

Re: CO2 Car
The car basically has a simple spring switch at the front of the car. I use the normally closed terminals of the switch. So, when the starting gate is down, the switch is pressed and the circuit is open. When the starting gate opens the switch becomes unpressed and the circuit closes.whodathunkit wrote: blue smoke,

When the circuit closes, it spins 2 motors. The motors are connected via gears to CO2 valves that open when the motors spin.
It's a relatively simple design but a bit heavier than the other designs that I've seen that simply puncture the CO2 cartridge.
