Avatar Changes

Post by gpraceman »

I changed the forum settings to allow avatars up to 96 x 96 pixels and 50 KB in size (up from 80 x 80 pixels and 10 KB). That should give people a little more flexibility.

I've tried, but my hosting page (tiny pic.com), has a default Avatar setting of 100x75, so I'm still out by just a bit, lol.

I upped it to 128 x 128 pixels. Hopefully, that will maximize flexibility for the members while not making the avatars too distractedly large.

The other avatar change I made was to replace the generic avatar used when a member doesn't specify their own avatar. I wasn't really liking the person silhouette. I was thinking about making the default be some old rust bucket, a Yugo, or something else that would make members want to specify their own avatar. However, that might have been too distracting, so I settled for something more subtle.

Well, it was just too blah. Yours, however, resembles you. ;)

Yeah, but the joke doesn't work when it no longer matches the default avatar. I'll come up with something else...
