NICE! Looking great Whoda! Have you ever heard of paperwood? it's super thin veneer woods adhered to a paper backing. I'm using it on my hot rod build and it looks like wood but without all of the weight! Since you have some ounces to shave, it might help lighten your load.

Might make for a grate skid plate type cover for the frame!
Never used any of it!
Is it like PSA. Pressure sensitive veneer?

Okay the wood work is winding down for the wings there done!
Thought I'd share a tip that I like to use when cutting thin pieces of wood out on the scroll saw so they don't fall threw the hole in the table.
The trick is to use a piece of wood on one side of the blade and set the cut piece on top to run threw the blade.
Here is what the wings over front finders turned out looking like.
view of all the wings installed and lower window cut out in right door.
Fifth wheel cover plate.
And just when you thought you seen it all !
Vitamin K ,
( just for you!) Push/Wheelie bars . Weight is at 5.6 oz with all the details so far! (still have to drill out under the back fenders.)

I would not think that it would be able to run on the track with the wheelie bars.

Randy,
My plan is to raise them up to clear 3/8".
For now there just sitting there I still have some work to do on the push bars to make them look better.
Then the tail end details like sunken tail lights.

Okay Randy, will this way work?
Got the rear end details done and the push/wheelie bars raised up.
I'm not looking forward to doing the paint job with a paint brush and tapes but here go's nothing!

Thank's BullFrog!
Spent some bucks today at Hobby Lobby for paint supply's ..
That air bush I've been wanting to get and try out is not getting any cheep'er so I had to pass it up and walk away.
Never used one to paint with but some day when the time is right i'll get one to try out.. I know there several cheep'er ones for starter's
however I can't see myself using one of them.. and then trying to use a higher end model to paint with.
I'll see what i can do to get a few pic's up as the paint job with a brush go's on.. right now the truck is primed in white.
When it dry's I'll be rubbing it down to remove the surface bumps and re- coating the white..hope to have a photo or two posted soon.

Thank's Randy, & Nope on the push/wheelie bars dragging..gpraceman wrote:Look really cool. No butt dragging now.
But if your talking about me and the paint job on the truck dragging along well that's a different thing!
Here's a few pic's of the truck in white.. For You & Bull Frog!
And few picks of model truck paint job showing the details that I'm going to try and do with a brush.
Here's a pic of the gill area painted:
And a few pic 's of the truck in white paint so far:
And the pic's of the model truck's paint job at different views that I'll be using as a guide for painting the strips on my wooden truck.
So well see if i can pull this paint job off.. yet to be seen however!

Working on it for you.. Bullfrog!
Here's to starting on the paint strip's .. might be a little slow going from here as i'll only have a few hours to work on it threw the week.
I'm liking the handy chart tapes that I picked up for masking off with in 1/6", 1/8" and 1/4" sizes there working out better then I thought they would.

Thank's karchitect!
I wish I could say that about my makeshift paint detail for the decal seen on the rear wing sides!
I'm trying the Saral wax free transfer papers out for the first time .. Then painting over the transfer.. This has taken me awhile tonight.
Hope it look's okay for the wing detail ( ? )
The truck in 2nd coat of clear so far !
Edit:
And then a pic of the clear plastic used for making the window glass.
Looking to have this build done soon.. just have a few more details to go!
