Screws for weights?
Screws for weights?
Hi! I have some of the Revell weights, but not enough of the screws (in part because of trying to reuse the weights). I want to buy more screws, but I don't know the specs for them.
Does anyone here know what screw would work, in terms of material/type and size, or link to Home Depot or Amazon?
Thanks!

Re: Screws for weights?
I would say there a number 2 gauge
Head bore size 11/64”
Shank hole size 3/32”
For lengths on these screws
1/4” 3/8 & 1/2”
If you have one take it with you to Home Depot
And you’ll find the right ones for size.

Re: Screws for weights?
I have found that a local hardware store has a better selection and are more helpful then a big national chain. And, in many cases you can buy what you need instead of a prepackaged qty.
Next would be an Ace - typically a local hardware store.
Then a fastner/nut and bolt place. But, most of them you have to have an account and/or a min $ order.
Finally Home Depot or Lowes. Unfortunately you are usually on your own in an isle with lots of items and little assistance.

I'm curious and also ignorant. I'm not familiar with Revell weights. Where did you buy Revell weights? From Whoda's description of the screw (How does this guy know all this stuff ?) I'm guessing it's a little Flat head screw that holds a tungsten plate. Is that correct? If so, I probably have a bunch of them since I never use the screws. I might even be able to get you longer ones in case you want to stack a few of them together. Let me know what you need and see if we can't save you a lot of time. I go by a Hardware store everyday.

Well Speedster,
The Revell screw on weights do look a lot like the ones from PineCar!
There is a square snap off style weight block
& then wedge snap off style weight block.
As for guessing at the screw size?
There are small screw size charts you know.
The Revell weight screws also look to be
The countersunk type for the head on the screw.

CHARTS ! You mean there's actually charts on screws on the Internet? What will they think of next?
That wedge snap off block sounds interesting. Are these blocks tungsten?
