Lead sheet

Post by terryep »

Here's a good place to get lead sheet.. many thicknesses. One sheet is enough for a whole cub pack. Easily cut to size with shears and you can punch holes in it with an auger to make screw holes.

We use lead sheet that is about 3-3.5 mm thick. It is too thick for shears so we use a sabre saw to cut it. A regular metal cutting blade will instantly gum up with the lead. We use a very coarse wood bit that will chip out the lead without gumming up. I picked up the lead sheet at a recycling yard for about 75 cents per pound.
