hollow/wedge

Post by Sssnake »

Someone asked for pics of the hollow/wedge/rail car. I have some pics of the undersides. Do I post them here or in photos section?

This is the Car & Semi-Truck Photos forum, so it is the appropriate place for posting your photos. Please do.

Randy, I believe he was looking for specific guidance as to how you post the photos. I kind of in the same boat. I wasn't able to find instructions anywhere.

On the Hollow Wedge the wing extends the length to the full 7" after cutting off the back of the car and also acts as a cheater bar. On the Flex Wedge the wing is just a try at a cheater bar.

Sssnake, does your track have a manually openned start gate?

I don't know if you happenned to have read my saga in the cheater bar thread but when the finish line judge (who also had a son racing) saw my son's car lead the pack down the ramp he grabbed it right of the track and declared it illegal! I built a spring released gate for our track this year in part to nullify the nose rule I missed and also to insure safe car staging and safe starts.

I don't understand why your car was DQ'd, what do your rules state? 2cm above the track is definetly not higher than the upper leading edge of the stock block. Did the nose project over the pin?

The rule said something like 2cm above the track to avoid problems with short starting pins. All the pins I've seen were 3" easy so I wasn't worried. Since the F1 had a front plastic "wing" I was allowed to bend it down for my son. He had to race one time backward. That rule was not inspected at weigh in.

Sssnake,

Awesome cars!

I have what might be a dumb question, but do you run these cars just like the pictures show with the bottom open and no cover plate? Just curious about the aerodynamics that we have talked so much about in the past.
