Well, I know I've thought about it. But I haven't thought enough to build one that would work well (meaning efficiently or economically, and partly for reasons Speedster noted). I suspect others have thought about it even more, with the conclusion being the conventional skid-type systems. A car actually loses relatively little speed in the flat; without additional braking a car starting at 4' needs to climb to ~3.5' to come to a complete standstill on, say, a 32' track.SlartyBartFast wrote:Has no one thought about using gravity to slow the cars down?
