Re: Frustraded With PWD and Need Help
FWIW; we used to hold double elimination derby in our pack simply because the District uses this format. Our old reasoning was that if its good enough for everyone else, its good enough for us... Well, after being out of the pack for a couple years, I was asked to come back and help "re-establi...

Re: Interested in going wireless?
I've been looking at this combination for our Judge system. I was thinking I could use the Blueport XP and hook it to the starting electronics (serial port) of the Judge and then use the Bluetooth USB for the PC. Now I'm not an electronics wizard by any means - I'm just searching for an off-the-shel...

DerbyMaster STEARNS Method - rounds?
We are using Derbymaster software for our race this saturday - it has an option for "stearns method". I've read alittle about it but I'mm not fully understanding what is meant by a "round" - does this mean that if I have 4 cars that each car will race the other cars once and then...

Re: This may be silly................
You could try "dialing in" their times.... for instance, have each car run x number of times in a practice mode to get an idea of its "average time"...have the racer submit his "dial in time" (ie the time they THINK the car will run the length of the track) then run you...

Re: Nyoil presence
Well, our pack race is over and for what its worth, no one appeared to be using any lubricant other than graphite so I guess my concerns were unfounded. I decided to run the inspection table and could not find any evidence of liquid lubes. Even the cars that tried to check in without any evidence of...

nyoil break-in and duration
OK, I know there was a thread or two that addressed this but I can't find it. With that, let me ask the question. 1) What is the estimated break-in time for nyoil II? 2) How many runs can you reasonably expect the Nyoil to last? Is there a 'duration' where you have to re-lube with nyoil? For instanc...

Re: Nyoil presence
Is it really a problem if someone uses oil-based lubricants? As long as it doesn't foul the track, what's the problem? Well, it IS against our written rules. Our rules mirror the district rules so that if you pass inspection in our pack race you most likely will pass inspection in the district race...

Nyoil presence
During official Derby Car inspection - how can one determine if Nyoil or other oil based lubricant has been used on the wheels/axles of a derby car (without pulling the wheels and axles) - if there is a means to check this, I want to add it to our inspection checksheet for our pack. I don't suspect ...

Re: Help with car design
How about using cutting discs from a dremel tool - you could paint them any color you wanted....(but I like the warp nacelles idea better!!)

Re: recommendations for weight placement
Thanks Stan - I'll use that as my baseline. The track is a home-made track with what appears to be "countertop laminate" on it - I'd call it rough as its pretty "bumpy" due to the type of top used (as compared to our pack's Besttrack aluminum). Our wheel quality is ALWAYS excelle...
