Sporty,
The person that has the pictures is trying to find the ones of that car. I have been real busy with the Pack, and with work I haven't had the time to be on the board that much.
When we find the pic's I'll post them up.
What new things have you done to your cars???

Re: building a cubmobile & tips and hints.
I know that our track is short. But finding a good slope to run in New Orleans is a little hard to do.
I am going to try and find out if anybody took some pictures of that car and our ramp so that I can post them up......,.

Re: building a cubmobile & tips and hints.
Sporty, The heat that I saw them lose in, it was close. They lost by inches so it wasn't like they got beat by a mistake. I looked at the car after the race and I knew when I had saw them that they had bought the Commtech wheels. I didn't look at the bearings in them, sorry.... The rules where put o...

Re: building a cubmobile & tips and hints.
Sporty, We had our Cubmobile last weekend. A couple of the cars that was brought had the Commtech 2000 wheels on them. But the cars was mainly made out of aluminum piping. The back axel was a 4x4 but everything else was piping. They made fast little cars. And they had welded the front axel to the ma...

Re: Need Help with Finishing and Painting methods for next y
I went the easier route. I sealed my sons car with Minwax sander sealer. It worked really well. Then I had bought a airbrush kit used for model cars and we used the testors model paint. Then cleared coated with the Testors clear spray paint. I was happy with the paint job and my son really liked it....

Re: Long Track/4 Wheeling Help Wanted
I would try and shoot for dead on alignment. Would see if you could move your CG back a little bit, to my be a 1" in front of your back wheels. That is my opion anyway.

Re: 2006 Pack Pinewood Derby
Found what the problem with my son's car was. It was the axels. I used the speed axels from a another company and changed them out to regular axels and it runs a little bit faster than last years car.

Re: Weight placement on long tracks
I have 4 cars cut as wedges and matched the wheels. We did use the wood pegs and washers. We should be done by Friday with the test. The reason for 4 car 2 regulor wheel base and the other 2 extended. So far the weight on the standard wheel base is right in front of the axel. Center based weight see...

Re: Weight placement on long tracks
Doc,
I am working on that problem myself. My pack has a 60 foot track. I will start my test on it tomorrow, using 4 cars of the same shape. I will post my findings once we complete the test.

Re: 2006 Pack Pinewood Derby
The car went down the track straight. It didn't walk at all. We used axel holes not the slots.
As soon as I figure out how to post the pictures I'll put them up

Re: 2006 Pack Pinewood Derby
Randy, That is what I kinda figured out half way throught the race. I watched the other cars and seeing the weight placement for them I had pretty much guessed what happened. But I was happy with the car that we got from you. I wish I had did the wieghts a little different. Well back to the drawing ...

2006 Pack Pinewood Derby
This is year my son raced the "wing" style car with the extended wheel base. We put the weights in the car and got it to 5.00 oz. We used some speed axels and wheels this year just to try them out. The night before the race I went down and helped set up the track. We run a 60ft Beta Craft ...
