Rocket winders

Post by NissanNut »

Is there any off the shelf winders besides the $5 battery powered single unit?

I am looking 3 at a time winder.

Thanks.

Well the winder worked awesome. Cut race day down to 4.5 hours. Other den leaders state that is a new record. Normally that battery winder or hand drill winder was used.

Now I just need to add the grand prix timing system to it. manual entry created to many issues in GP race manger. Too many ties.
I was entering 1 sec for 1st, 2 sec for 2nd and 3sec for third.

You could have set GPRM to score by points and then you would have just entered the finish order. Much less typing that way.

Ties are always an issue when using points (or the equivalent, like you did). One thing you can try for next year is to take the top n racers and run a second round for the trophies. A tie in the first round won't really matter, as you can advance extra racers.

BTW - I am really surprised that no one has marketed a multi rocket winder or at least the plans to build one. I'm sure MaxV would be interested in carrying that on his Space Derby supply website.

I think I will make another winder and sell this one. I have an idea for a 4 rocket version. 1 belt. :D

Next year the track will be all electronically timed.

Here is the finish line box. similar to the car box I made. Just need to order another kit.

I just moved the leds from vertical to horizontal.
